Acer G235hAbd is a full HD 23-inches LCD monitor that comes in a rather low-quality packaging. The box contains the monitor, power cord, DVI and VGA cables, a user manual, and a driver disk. As you will unpack the monitor, you will see transparent plastic tape attached to its stand and sides; for some users, getting rid of these tapes could become an irritating task.
Design
Acer G235hAbd is slim; the curves and design make it look slimmer. The stand is also slim and nicely curved to look stylish. However, after attaching the monitor to its stand we found the monitor to wobble slightly when the desk is wobbly. The plastic base, though it looks good, is not so effective at keeping the monitor firm and steady on it.
Acer G235hAbd has its OSD control (five push buttons) under its right front end. The DVI, VGA ports, and the A/C input are located duly on the back of the monitor.
Performance of Acer G235hAbd
Acer G235hAbd delivered decent color. Initially, the brightness was pretty high. But we decreased it with the not so user-friendly OSD controls. The good thing about G235hAbd is that it has a high depth of black, which is important for good color output. We tried different single color screen background to see if there were any dead pixels, but we didn’t find any.
We ran some graphics intense software and games and got crisp and clear output each time.
Pros | Cons |
Budget HD monitor. It outputs a clear picture with decent color. High-depth of black; high contrast and brightness. | OSD adjustment panel is not user-friendly, wobbly stand. Does not have an HDMI port. |
Conclusion
Acer G235hAbd is a budget HD monitor. It outputs a clear picture with decent color. It does not have an HDMI port. We would have given Acer G235hAbd a 4-star rating if it had a stronger stand and better OSD control, and the missing HDMI port.
