Being a Tablet under $100, PD10 Freelander definitely has some features unique to it. It is the fastest 7-inch Tablet priced under $100. It comes with an HDMI port, supports HD (1080p) video, and an impressive multi-touch display.
What is in the box?
PD10 comes in a nice little boxing. The box includes the PD10 Tablet PC, user manuals, charger, and a USB cable.
Design
PD10 Tablet is slim (9.5mm). The black durable plastic body with a glossy touch gives it an appealing look. It feels good in the hand too.
PD10 has its ports located on the top edge. PD10 has the charger port, USB port, SD card slot, HDMI port, mic, 3.5mm audio port. It has the volume up/down and power button on its right side. There are four quick touch buttons just below the top edge for easier internet browsing.
PD10 sports Telechips TCC8923, 1.2GHz, Cortex-A5 CPU, 512 DDR3 RAM, and 8GB Nand Flash ROM. It supports up to 32GB SD card.
Performance
PD10 has performed the best among all the Android 4.0 Tablet PCs priced under $100 that we tried. It is very swift in action. The touchscreen display works instantaneously to touch commands. We played angry bird and other games. The video output was impressive without any lag. Sound quality is more than impressive with a good headphone.
But the most impressive feature of PD10 was its internet connectivity. It gave the most stable and high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity among the other cheap Tablet PCs we tried.
PD10 comes with only one camera located at the front. It is 0.3 Megapixel. However, during a video chat, we did have bright footage of ourselves displayed on the other person’s tablet who was sitting right beside for testing, but of course, the resolution wasn’t impressive.
We downloaded few HD videos from YouTube and connected PD10 Tablet PC to our HD monitor using an HDMI cable (doesn’t come along), and the output was impressive. We tried Skype video calling, MSN and Yahoo messenger, Facebook, and other online application, and PD10 undertook all the operation fast and at ease.
The battery backup was okay. During our test, the battery gave 5 hours backup when playing games and 5.5 hours of backup when using Wi-Fi to connect to the internet.
